A Matter Of Image Repost

The following is another chapter from [Bittersweet Refinements].  Since each part is connected to the rest, it would do you well to keep reading (and listening for our Heavenly Father's explanations, of course).

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock; over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. [Genesis 1:26-27 NIV]

It is, above all else, because of Adam and Eve being created by our Heavenly Father that makes Him ultimately responsible for their actions.  For it would be different if He was just a superior being that came upon them after they reached sentience, and took it upon Himself to show them and their descendants how to reach a higher plane of existence.

Many in the Christian community would argue that I have missed a critical point about their creation that changes everything.  For it is because of them being created IN HIS IMAGE that they are fully responsible for their own actions.

Methinks that they have missed a point or two themselves.  For a long, hard look in a mirror should serve as sufficient proof in and of itself that the image that we were all created in is but a poor reflection of our Heavenly Father’s glory[1].  For who from amongst us in the history of our existence could have ever honestly said that they were all-powerful, or all-knowing, or always-present—let alone perfect in all of their own most awesome ways[2]?

The counter to that is that it was not until after they had sinned that their image became tarnished, and there appears to be Biblical evidence to support this.  For it is true that our Heavenly Father considered everything that He had created in the beginning as being VERY GOOD[3], and in Mark 10: 18 it is made abundantly clear that only God is good.  For it is written: And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.” [Mark 10:18 NAS]

However, if Adam and Eve had of been created as good as our Heavenly Father truly is, they would not have eaten of the forbidden fruit—now, would they?  For our Heavenly Father is not tempted by sin[4]!

On a related note, far too many have been led to believe just the opposite of that.  For it has been widely taught (in one way or another) that Christ Jesus was not so unlike we naturally are when He walked upon the face of this world in the flesh[5].

Much of this is based upon a misunderstanding of such passages as Hebrews 2:9-18.  For it is written: But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.  For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.  For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying, “I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE.”  And again, “I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM.”  And again, “BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME.”  Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.  For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.  Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.  For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. [Hebrews 2:9-18 NAS]

Yes, that does make it sound like Christ Jesus was just like we naturally are before His resurrection[6], but who from amongst can honestly say that we are without sin?  For it is written: This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.  If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.  If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. [1 John 1:5-10 NAS]

Therefore, how can it be believed that Christ Jesus was not so unlike we naturally are?  For He was without sin[7]!

Thnking of Christmas Gifts in July

I would think that it would be needlessly to say, but considering the level of sophistication to many of my readers, it would probably be better to just go ahead and spell it out. Therefore, please be advised that this is one of a number of special edition Sites To See, and all included in it may have something that just might fit quite nicely under your Christmas tree (or stuffed in a stocking) a few very short months from now. As in the regular Sites To See, the link provided below is to the main site, and the images are linked to their particular page, when applicable. The images serve as an example of what they have to offer, and they are not meant as a recommendation. Although, they do represent something that I liked, but since my wife does not like me all that much most of the time (no, I have no idea why, neither), I do not expect to see any of them with my name on it. Hopefully, it is better in your family, and I am quite sure that the artisans here would greatly appreciate your business. Besides, spending your money on things that are made and marketed by people not so unlike yourself strikes a blow against corporate greed and all of that other stuff, which is supposed to be a good thing—right?

WhiteHeart Wednesday

MP3 Audio Player From: [BlogDumps Video]

Love Is Everything
WhiteHeart
Don’t you let anyone say
It’s a jungle out there
So jump in the fray
There is a far better way
It’s love
Love is everything

Take an ax to the family tree
Cut the cord of society
Then the lonely one left to love
Is named me
And that’s nothing
When love is everything

Love
Love
Love
Love is everything
Love is everything
I said love
Love
Love
Love is everything
Love is everything

You can clench your teeth
On the taste of hate
‘Cause someone will hurt you
Sooner than later
But your heart will collapse
From the weight
Of nothing

When there are faces to hold
Memories to heal
Hands to touch
Summer nights to feel
Deeper than deep
In your heart
You can know what is real
That love is everything

Love
Love
Love
Love is everything
Love is everything
I said love
Love
Love
Love is everything
Love is everything
Oh love
Love
Love

War is Hell
And hate’s a machine
The world is full
Of little kings and queens
But it’s time to forgive
Hope and dream
And love

Don’t you know that
Love is everything
I said love
Love
Love
Love is everything
Love is everything

So bring everything
That your heart can bear
Live your life
Like a holy prayer
Before your gaze comes to rest
On an empty chair

Love
Love
Love
Love is everything

Oh love
Love
Love
Love is everything

Oooh

Everything

Don’t you know
Don’t you know

It’s everything

Everything

TWO FOR TUESDAY

Not every song that will be featured here will be what is generally considered as being “Christian” in the eyes of this world. For some will be anguished cries from the pit of despair, and others will be quite obviously ferverent rants of rebellion. Nonetheless, be assured that they will all be of our Heavenly Father (in one way or another) and I hope that you have been given ears to hear the message.

Simple Man
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Mama told me
When I was young
Come sit beside me
My only son
And listen closely
Oh baby
To what I say
And if you do this
It’ll help you
Some sunny day

Ah yeah

I’ll be your simple man

Oh take your time
Don’t live too fast
Troubles will come
Oh and they will pass
Go find a woman
Oh baby
And you’ll find love
And don’t forget son
There is someone
Up above

And be a simple
Kind of man
Oh be something
You love and understand
Baby be a simple
Be a simple man
Oh won’t you do this
For me son
If you can

Forget your lust
For the rich man’s gold
All that you need
Oh is in your soul
And you can do this
Oh baby
If you try
All that I want for you my son
Is to be satisfied

And be a simple
Kind of man
Oh be something
You love and understand
Baby be a simple
Be a simple man
Oh won’t you do this
For me son
If you can

Oh yes I will

I’ll be your simple man

Boy don’t you worry
You’ll find yourself
Follow your heart
Oh not the miles
You can do this
Oh baby
If you try
All that I want for you my son
Is to be satisfied

And one more thing

And be a simple
Kind of man
Oh be something
You love and understand
Oh baby be a simple
Be a simple man
Oh won’t you do this
For me child
If you can

Oh baby be a simple
Baby be a simple
Kind of man
Oh be something
You love and understand
Oh baby be a simple
Be a simple man
Oh won’t you do this
For me son
If you can

Oh mama you know I will

I’ll be the very best I can

Tuesday’s Gone
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Train roll on
On down the line
Won’t you
Please take me far
Away
Now I feel the wind blow
Outside my door
Means I’m
I’m leavin’ my woman
At home

Lord yeah
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Oh my baby’s gone
With the wind
The wind

And I don’t know
Oh where I’m goin’
I just want to be
Left alone
Well when this train ends
I’ll try again
But I’m leavin’ my woman
At home

Lord yeah
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
My baby’s gone
With the wind

Train roll on

Tuesday’s gone

Train roll on
Many miles from my home
See I’m
I’m ridin’ my blues
Away
Tuesday you see
She had to be free
Lord but
Somehow I’ve got to
Carry on

Lord yeah
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
Tuesday’s gone
With the wind
My baby’s gone
With the wind

Train roll on
Oh on
Because my baby’s gone
I’m ridin’ my blues babe
Tryin’ to ride my blues babe
Ride on train
Ride on train
Ride my blues babe
Goodbye Tuesday
Goodbye Tuesday
Oh train

Come Monday...Andrew Breitbart

“Come Monday…” is a weekly series that will involve a review of, or commentary about, websites, movies, documentaries, television shows, sports, music, and whatever else may tickle my fancy at the time. Be assured that these reviews will be generally positive, as in accordance to the Jimmy Buffett song “Come Monday.” This is subject to change, however. In fact, I would be most derelict in my duties to neglect going on a rant every once in a while. For rants promote change, and change can be good—right? Therefore, since good is generally considered as being a positive force in 99.3% of the parallel universes that I am aware of, even a rant could be considered as being something positive, and a genuine hissy-fit would be even better (so I’m told).

Unless you live under a rock out in the middle of nowhere or have been on an extended vacation to the [South Pole], you have probably heard more than you want to about what Shirley Sherrod supposedly said and what has happened since. Well, that little matter will not deter me from adding my 2.83 cents worth (adjusted for inflation and global warming).

Besides, the focus of this piece is actually not on Ms. Sherrod, anyway. For I would like to focus your attention upon an equal-opportunity abuser by the name of [Andrew Breitbart], who appears to be made out of the same moral fiber as [Glenn Beck]. For the bombastic Mr. Beck has stated that he doesn’t care about the politics that he reports. For he is just in the business for entertainment purposes, and Mr. Breitbart seems to be no different. For no one could work for both [The Drudge Report], which is very conservative in its slant to stories, and [The Huffington Post], which is ultra liberal, and really stand for anything.

On the other hand, it may very well be that he sees corruption on both sides, which is a very astute observation to make. Furthermore, he appears to be a strong supporter of the [Tea Party Movement], which generally opposes the politics of both the [Republican] and [Democratic] parties in America, but with people like him leading their charge, do we have anything to look forward to?

In all fairness, there was some good that came out of this mess. For after Mr. Breitbart posted a video clip that portrayed Ms. Sherrod as a blatant racist in the [USDA], she was fired from her position almost immediately and even the [NAACP] issued a statement that denounced her quite strongly. Then it came out that the clip had been heavily edited, and it was made clear for all to see that the leadership of both the USDA and the NAACP are incompetent (at best). For neither one made any effort to confirm the facts before they acted. [Kirk Peterson] and [Marc Chamot] published a couple of very well written articles about this last week.

I first learned about what Mr. Breitbart had done while watching a segment of [ABC’s Nightline] last week. Now, I was not able to find an embeddable copy of it, but if you will go [here], you can watch what I did. A written transcript is also provided there.

However, I was able to find Ms. Sherrod’s complete speech, and the edited version. The last video below is of Mr. Breitbart defending his actions.

If you go to watch the full version of her speech, the “good part” starts around the 17 minute mark, but I would highly recommend carefully listening to the whole thing. For she says some things that made me visibly cringe, and not all of that was in regards to what she and her family has been subjected to over the years, neither.
